Do you know that the majority of negative online reviews for hotels and hospitality apartments concern poorly constructed bathrooms? How can a small bathroom functionally feel larger?
It is a fact that hotel renovations often begin with bathroom refurbishments, aiming to upgrade sanitary spaces. However, Greek tourism businesses often struggle to enlarge bathroom spaces because Greek accommodations are either old properties or part of traditional settlements.
Here are our 5 ideas to redesign small bathroom to a comfortable bathroom interior that functionally feel larger_
1. Firstly, we suggest replacing the toilet and sink, the two main sanitary items. In their place, install a wall-hung toilet with an embedded cistern and an inset or countertop sink. The absence of the porcelain pedestal and floor drainage, speeds up the cleaning of the space and creates the impression of having more internal space.
Following the same philosophy, we suggest you hang on wall all bathroom equipment, such as the bin and toilet paper holder, ensuring more free space. For optimal results, the toilet paper holder can be placed vertically instead of horizontally.

2. One of the most common functional traps that may cause injury is the positioning and opening of the bathroom door. We suggest replacing the swing door with an external sliding door. By this term, we mean a door that slides along the wall outside the bathroom and does not need to be recessed into the wall. Imagine the free space that is released inside the bathroom!

3. Do you want to enlarge your space? We suggest placing a large mirror, preferably elongated or round. The result you will achieve is increased natural brightness in the space through reflection.

4. In the case of a complete bathroom renovation, we recommend installing a single vanity unit, close to the shower area. This significant design choice places the basic plumbing fixtures in line, consolidates the plumbing connections, and leaves space for the toilet.
Beyond the bathroom cupboards, we suggest a glass shower enclosure or a built-in half-wall.

5. Finally, if you are open to more advanced solutions, we suggest relocating the sink outside the bathroom while keeping the toilet and shower inside for privacy reasons. This solution can be implemented if the dimensions of the hotel room or hospitality apartment allow it. The freed-up space inside the bathroom becomes significant, while the sink can be framed by an impressive mirror and suitable lighting, elevating the sink to a vanity piece!
